Helichrysum
Pastel painting/drawing on watercolour paper, which has been covered with blue-green acrylic and surfaced with gritted primer. Size 22 x 15 inches (55cm x 37cm approx). Helichrysum, or strawflowers, are popular subjects in dried flower arrangements. Pastel, being a dry medium, is ideal for portraying their delicate colouring. This picture is currently retained by the artist and shown here as an example of flowers worked in pastel medium.
