Original acrylic painting on box canvas; measuring 24 x 20 inches x 2 inches depth (60cm x 50cm x 4cm approx). No framing required. The canvas has been textured with sand and the main flowers lightly sculpted with a gesso base, before painting. Gold paint has been worked over an underlying deep green base, providing a gold-leaf type reflective surface in most areas, but allowing a green glow to diffuse over the picture when seen at different angles. The shaft of sunlight is balanced with areas of reflective interference gold paint. The red-orange poppies provide a colour complement with the green-gold.
