Original acrylic painting on canvas board panel, 10" x 8" (25cm x 20cm). Unframed. Originally intended as a study for a larger painting, I decided to add further to it and make it a complete scene. The cloud formation is not an imaginary one, it has been worked from several photographs that I took last year. The challenge in this small piece was to get the purplish-pink, shadowy clouds to form as a mist across the blue sky backdrop. I don't normally favour acrylics for landscape work but they are very good for getting a strong golden glow of light into a piece, because they dry quickly and can be worked over within a short time-frame. I am happy to consider commissions for larger paintings of this style.
