Three autumn leaves in typical shades of muted red-orange, orange-yellow and orangey-brown. They are set on a mottled background of blue-browns, pinkish-brown and muted orange markings with some gold. The lower leaf is deliberately painted in a decorative style to emphasise the branching veins that become more prominent as the leaf decays. Gold acrylic paint has been used for this, giving the work a reflective quality in this area.
