PRIVACY INFORMATION
ChristineDerrick.com does not send spam emails and does not conduct any form of mass email marketing. If you receive spam or mass mailings purporting to be from this domain, then they are definitely not my handiwork. The same information applies to the co.uk redirect domain of the same name. Buyers' personal information is never sold or distributed to third parties.
EMAIL: salesinfo at christinederrick.com substitute the word at with the usual circular symbol.

This form has a dropdown menu with several subject options, which you can use to contact me with, if you prefer this route. The Contact Form is not hosted within the UK and I collect all emails in a non-UK mailbox. However, be aware that it is not guaranteed to be free from UK government snoopers or ISP mail-loggers.
Below this contact form, you can read further about postage details, payment methods, costs, terms, refunds, etc. all of which you can ask questions about by using this form. Normally I will reply within 24-48 hours. If you think there's a problem with the submission form, then please email me directly.
To enquire about a picture on this website, please email the artist first to confirm availability. Normally, pictures that have been sold are marked up as such, by the artist, as soon as possible following sale completion. If available, the picture will be marked "reserved" for you, whilst arrangements for payment and postage are organised. Please note that paintings will be reserved only for 7 days following the initial enquiry (14 days for overseas requests). If, during that time, payment has not been received then the painting will be returned to full availability. This is to deter timewasters.
In line with a number of Internet galleries, I am now increasing the approval period to 14 working days, following receipt of purchase.

Payments are accepted via sterling cheque, UK postal orders, debit and creditcards through Paypal.
Please note that all prices given for paintings on this site do not include the cost of delivery outside the UK.
Postage of paintings will be by 1st class mail (UK addresses) or other service based on overall size. If the purchaser wishes to use another service such as signed/recorded, etc then please ask by email for a quote. Deliveries will be either via Royal Mail or another courier such as DHL, CityLink, etc.
PLEASE NOTE: occasionally couriers do fail to collect packages from my home on the specified date. As a result, I have to rebook the collection or cancel it and rebook with another courier. This takes extra time to complete. As from January 1st 2012, therefore, I cannot guarantee delivery by a date specified by the customer. If a painting is required for a special event, please allow extra delivery time......just in case.
Pictures can be mailed overseas to U.S/Canada, Europe (with exceptions), Australia/New Zealand. A price for delivery will be supplied to the prospective buyer before finalising the sale. Some smaller works may be able to travel via airmail but larger canvasses will not.
Postage of larger works to such places as Australia can be very expensive. Cheaper options have longer delivery-times. Please keep in mind.
I cannot consider mailing to EU countries where political upheavals are likely to disrupt deliveries, e.g Greece.
Returns Policy; please see last section of page.
POSTAGE and PACKAGING DETAILS
In most cases, canvasses are posted without frames, making the package lighter in weight. They will be bubble-wrapped and then normally boxed in double-strength telescopic cartons.
Pastel work is normally offered with a mount and frame but not glass. Couriers' delivery regulations keep changing as regards glass and it appears that most will not now offer certain insurance cover if glass is in the parcel.
Pastel-work will therefore be dealt with as follows;
(a) If purchased with mountboard and frame, the work will have a sheet of perspex or acrylic-glass substituted for proper glass. This will help protect the picture in transit. Acrylic-glass or perspex is NOT really suitable for framing pastel because it holds static charges and may lift the pastel grains from the picture. An information sheet will be included with all pastel purchases, to help the buyer replace the acrylic glazing.
(b) If purchased with just a mountboard, the work will be securely "sandwiched" between hardboard panels to prevent slippage and smearing; then wrapped further in protective card before posting.
Overseas delivery: most airmail packages have to be 2kg or less. The same packaging approach will be used, to ensure as much protection as possible.
Delivery times abroad vary from 5-7 days airmail, to anything up to 8 weeks via surface mail.

Purchasers are advised that all images on this website have been produced directly from each painting using a digital camera, and that all efforts to create an accurate digital representation have been made. Blue and purple colours can be difficult to reproduce accurately, especially when they are subtle.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SALES, REFUNDS
Payment for artwork should be IN FULL (unless otherwise arranged), prior to dispatch by the artist. Where commissioned work is concerned, a deposit of 25% is payable prior to the artist beginning the work.
- A buyer may have 14 working days to decide if the artwork is what they want, those 14 days to start from the date that the buyer receives the painting. This complies with the current UK Distance Selling Regulations and actually exceeds the minimum requirement.
- Please NOTE, that where a commissioned work is deemed to be of a highly personal nature, such as a painting featuring a customer's home, other property, personal belongings, pet, portrait, family or monogrammed, then the artist may find such work impossible to resell; and as such is not legally obliged to offer a refund.
- In both cases (purchase of existing work and commissioned) an invoice for the final total will be sent to the purchaser, either within the parcel or separately.
- If within the 14-day approval period the buyer elects not to keep the work, he/she should ideally inform the seller by email, or else as soon as possible by post. A phonecall is not deemed to be proof of cancellation since it is not a tangible report.
- The item should be returned using the original packaging if possible, or at least something equivalent in strength and suitability for transit in the post, whether within the UK or from another country. The seller will, in any case, refund the buyer within 30 days of that cancellation (in practise this is done on the same day that the seller receives the painting back). The buyer should take "reasonable care" when returning the goods, regards packaging.
- The buyer will normally bear the cost of return postage unless some agreement has otherwise been made.
- If, through unfortunate circumstances, the painting reaches the buyer in a damaged condition, then the buyer must inform the seller as soon as possible, to work out a mutual agreeement. In most circumstances, a request for the item to be returned (to the seller) will be made and a refund organised. This will be either by cheque or via Paypal if used; where a Creditcard payment has been made through Paypal, it will be refunded via the same route. If the buyer has purchased a framed item, and the frame is damaged, and the buyer wishes to otherwise keep the picture, then the seller will agree to compensate for a replacement frame.
- The timespan in which returns may be made/sales cancelled is 14 days. The artist cannot consider refunds on artwork that is sent back after the approval period has expired, since it is deemed that the buyer has had full "leisure and pleasure" use from the work. Work returned simply because the buyer no longer likes it or has changed their interior decor will not constitute a valid reason for refunds.
USE OF IMAGES ON THIS WEBSITE
All images of paintings created by the artist are copyright and should not be used on any other website, or in any advertising medium, on or offline, without the artist's agreement.
Commissioning-for-copying is unacceptable; i.e commissioning an original work from the artist that is then reproduced in paint on canvas, in mass quantity, or in printed format, for commercial gain that does not financially involve the original artist.
